Here’s a set of photos taken before and during a paint make-over of a client’s kitchen. The original paint was an ivory/tan color called Snickerdoodle. While the kitchen looked ok, there was an obvious lack of “pop” to it; details of the cabinetry and granite were being lost due to the overly light color in the background.
In order to remedy these drawbacks, we decided to paint the vertical surfaces in a rich chocolate brown color. We left the horizontal surfaces untouched, switched out the swag over the sink from a green color to an intertwined two-color dark brown and caramel swag, and anchored everything with an area rug. As you can see from the before and after photos, the new color scheme works great at bringing out the details of the granite and the cabinets!
